A look at the state of company websites in Zimbabwe

Chances are you print a new company brochure and/or new business cards every year or every time you change certain details about your services or products or whenever you move office.

It’s rather tacky each time you pull out a card to be searching frantically for a pen and then cancelling out things and scribbling your new details in tiny little spaces remaining on the card- so it’s a great idea to print new cards every now and then, yes?

Move away from the realm of print, to the online world.

We did a random sweep of a number of Zimbabwean corporate websites and well, let’s put it this way- if they were business cards many of them would not only have the wrong contact details but wrong corporate colours, wrong names of bearer, etc.

Let’s put things into perspective, shall we. Twenty-four hours a day, 365 days a year your site is the one facet of your company that’s open to the public. For many companies it’s the first point of contact with the prospective client- and we all agree that first impressions are IMPORTANT, yeah?

It makes sense then, does it not, to keep your website up to date? If you value your image, then you are screaming YES!

If you can’t be bothered to keep your website up to date then don’t have one. It does you more harm to have typos and incorrect or out of date information than not to have a website at all.
