Highway Africa 2008 is Here

Every year, more than 500 ICT professionals, students, lecturers and enthusiasts from all over the world gather at Rhodes University in Grahamstown, South Africa to showcase and discuss ICT innovations, developments and policies that relate to Internet governance and media for democracy.

The event is called Highway Africa and it has been running for the last eleven years.

This year it will take place from 8 to10 September 2008.

Highway Africa is a collaboration between Rhodes University (School of Journalism and Media Studies) and the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC). It is made possible through the support of a number of sponsors, partners and development agencies.

For over a decade now, the conference has been a leading platform for the sharing of ideas, asking and answering of questions on journalism and new media. The conference has grown over the years to become the largest annual gathering of African journalists and new media practitioners in the world.

Highway Africa is open to journalists, editors, media managers, academics, etc, interested in ICTs, technology, the Internet and telecoms.
