The Prime Minister Has a Website

If you have ever tried to visit any of the Zimbabwe Government Websites you will know how out of date and poorly maintained they are. Just over a month after he was inaugurated as Prime Minister of Zimbabwe, Morgan Tsvangirai has an official website and compared to what we have seen before, it’s a breath of fresh air…

Zimbabwe Hit by Email Problem

Webdev Closes TGI Internet Café

Webdev on Friday (27th March 2009) closed down it’s recently opened TGI internet café located at the company’s 9th Street Premises.

According to a representative from the company, bandwidth costs made the venture unprofitable.

The café had become popular with more upmarket surfers who preferred the quiet and spacious environment of the Avenues.

High hopes for Zimbabwe’s ICT sector revival

[ItNewsAfrica] High hopes exists that the formation of a government of national unity in Zimbabwe will revive the troubled information and communications technology sector in Zimbabwe.

Like many sectors in the Southern African country’s comatose economy, the industry has not been spared the economic downturn that has bedeviled Zimbabwe in the last decade.

Newly-appointed Minister of Technology Nelson Chamisa said he was hopeful that some measures devised by the government of national unity would breathe life to the sector. (more…)
