How Rosinah Hove Met Condoleezza Rice

Rosinah Hove recently spent a month at General Electric in the United StatesWhen I first met Rosinah Hove, in 2006, she struck me with her demure brand of confidence and sharp wit. She had just been appointed to the post of Finance Director at Celsys Limited, one of two listed technology counters on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange, and she discussed this issue with me in a matter-of-fact manner, as if it was one of those things that just happen in life.

A few weeks ago she was sitting next to Condoleezza Rice and I can picture her seated there unfettered by the whole scenario, chatting about this and that with the most powerful woman in the World. (more…)

Faith Moves On

Obituary- Edward William Tipler

Ted Tipler finally lost his battle with cancer, and died in Bulawayo on 15 March 2007 at the age of 73. He was a founder member of the Computer Society of Zimbabwe, having joined the Bulawayo Chapter in 1974. He was made an Honorary Member in 1984 which status was subsequently converted to FELLOW in 1992. (more…)

Design@7 Visual Works is Born

This month (April 2002) the web design department of Africa Online Zimbabwe became a fully functional design house called Design@7 Visual Works. The outfit will specialise in design for print,  website development and related online activities. Jacob Ngandu is the man at the helm.

Zim Designers Receive Icograda Scholarships

Two Zimbabwean Designers Jacob Ngandu (Design @ 7) and Sifelani Ngandu (Cyberplex Africa) are two of five African designers who have been awarded scholarships by the Icograda Foundation scholarships.

The Icograda (International Council of Graphic Design Associations) Foundation recently announced the list of recipients of its biennial scholarships for 2001. (more…)

Cyberplex Africa- A New Web Era

This month saw the creation of Zimbabwe’s first dedicated web design house- Cyberplex Africa. Located at kopje Plaza (6th Floor). Cyberplex Africa brings a professional face to the web design industry.
